Vitamin C
(Mark Moyad, MD, MPH, of the University of Michigan states, "The more we study vitamin C, the better our understanding of how diverse it is in protecting our health, from cardiovascular, cancer, stroke, eye health immunity to living longer.")

          There is no side effect  to consuming vitamin C besides possible upset stomach. An upset stomach usually comes from taking vitamin C in pill form rather than chewable tablets. An important point to realize here is that the percentage value for vitamin C on the food labels is completely obsolete. The 100% value used by the FDA comes 
from consuming around 52mg of vitamin C per day. Even the basic chewable vitamin C tablet has 500 grams, or Orange833% of the daily value.

                Vitamin C is a very cheap vitamin and we recommend 2,000mg a day as long as it doesn’t upset your stomach. Start out with 500mg a day and then build up by 500mg more each week to help your stomach gain a tolerance for this higher amount (Buffered Vitamin C can be bought to help prevent an upset stomach if 500 mg is still too much). When the 2,000mg level is reached it should be consumed at 500mg doses throughout the day rather than all at once. Do this so the nutrient can be completely absorbed into the body. Excess vitamin C will simply be excreted.

You will gain healthier hair, skin, nails, and even weight. Vitamin C is also mandatory  for your body when it comes to healing itself. Whether it comes from a scratch, recovering joints/muscles, or a sickness, vitamin C is the answer. When you are sick feel free to take more vitamin C to help your body recover more quickly 

                Note that once you have a more serious illness then Vitamin C won’t be the cure. Vitamin C will help your body heal itself but not quickly enough for a deadly disease. This site is built for prevention though so give yourself the best fighting chance by regularly consuming this nutrient before you have to worry about a disease of that magnitude.
